Rustic alpine pastures and the natural jewel of a mountain lake. Scenic circular hike to the rustic Bischofalms, crowned by the rewarding detour to the idyllic Zollner Lake.
The hike leads us right into the largest ski area in Carinthia, and we walk through alpine meadows and ski slopes to Rossalm and then further to Madritsche, the ski center of Nassfeld.
Rosskofel (2240 m), also called Monte Cavallo di Pontebba, lies west of the Nassfeld ski area and is a karst mountain with many geological features. Its interior is crisscrossed by cave systems, and several paths lead to the mighty summit plateau.
The ascent to the Khünburg ruin follows the so-called Jägersteig all the way through the forest. The return route runs mostly along a forest road and later through the village of Khünburg on a paved road, with a few shortcuts over footpaths.
