From the eastern summit of the Oisternig, you also have a clear view of the lower Gail valley and the Dobratsch (2,166 m). The valley floor south of this "Villach Alp" was the site of a mountain collapse disaster in the 14th century (January 25, 1348).
Looking south, you can see Monte Santo di Lussari (Lussari Mountain), 1,789 m - a popular destination for hikers and pilgrims above Tarvisio (Tarvis).
Pilgrimage Church Maria Graben in Vorderberg:
In a gorge south of the village stands the late Gothic pilgrimage church "Our Lady in the Graben." A tall tower with arrow slits, pointed Gothic tracery windows, and an eight-part pointed spire stands to the north of the late Gothic nave from the 15th century. Quader plaster is found on all edges of the church. Inside, late Gothic frescoes from the early 16th century depicting the symbols of the evangelists and angels were uncovered and restored in 1972. Another special feature of the filial church Maria im Graben is the large carved rosary with a figure of Mary and angels, created in the 17th century.
